Types of Metal Roofing We Install
Standing Seam Metal Roofing
This is the top choice for homeowners who want modern, clean lines and long-term durability. Standing seam panels feature raised seams that interlock for a watertight seal and a sleek, architectural appearance.
- Excellent snow-shedding and wind resistance
- Available in multiple colors and finishes
Metal Shingle Roofing
If you love the look of traditional shingles but want the performance of metal, this option delivers both. Metal shingles replicate the appearance of wood, slate, or asphalt while lasting twice as long.
- Classic look with premium protection
- Great for residential homes and historic properties
What Homeowners Are Saying
The best way to know what working with us is like is to hear it from the people who already have. Every review is from a real homeowner who wanted the job done right and got it.
Charlie Matlock
The crew did an excellent job replacing two flat roofs, replacing a valley, reflashing a chimney, and replacing slate shingles. I will call on them for future work.
Amy Pokorny
Manuel, Bradley and crew are all polite, conscientious and hardworking, and it is a pleasure to do business with them. We are very happy with their work

Albany and Nearby Cities
We install metal roofing on homes throughout Albany County and the surrounding Capital Region. Whether you’re in Albany itself, out toward Colonie, or in neighborhoods closer to Troy or Bethlehem, we bring the same level of care, communication, and craftsmanship to every home we work on.
A lot of the metal roofs we install in this area are for homeowners who are tired of dealing with shingles every 15 to 20 years and want something that will truly last. In places like Guilderland and Clifton Park, we see a lot of snow load and tree coverage, which makes metal a smart choice for preventing ice dams and keeping maintenance low.
Metal Roofing FAQs
Will a metal roof be loud in the rain?
The short answer is no, not the way we install it on homes around here.
A lot of people picture rain hitting bare metal on a barn or a shed. That is loud, because there is nothing under it. On your house, the metal panels go over roof decking, underlayment, and insulation. All of that absorbs sound. In most Albany homes, you already have sheetrock ceilings and attic insulation as well.
What you actually hear inside is similar to what you would hear with shingles. Some homeowners tell us they like a very soft background sound in a heavy rain. Most say they do not notice any difference at all once the roof is installed.
Will our metal roof rust?
Done correctly, no. The metal roofing we install is not raw steel. It is manufactured with protective coatings that are designed to prevent rust, even with Albany’s mix of snow, rain, and road salt in the air.
There are multiple layers working for you. The base metal is galvanized or galvalume steel, which already resists corrosion. On top of that you have primers and a baked-on color finish. All of this is backed by a manufacturer warranty for finish and perforation.
The only time rust becomes a concern is when panels are cut or installed incorrectly or when a cheap, non residential product is used. We follow manufacturer guidelines, use the right trims and fasteners, and seal exposed cuts. That is how you avoid rust issues long term.
Does metal roofing increase home value?
For most homeowners, yes it does, especially in a market like the Capital Region where buyers pay attention to big ticket items like the roof.
Think about it from a buyer’s perspective. If they see a brand new metal roof with decades of life ahead and low maintenance, that removes a future expense. That peace of mind has real value. Agents will often highlight a metal roof in a listing because it sets your home apart from others with older shingles.
You also get a quieter kind of value. Improved curb appeal, better energy performance, and not having to worry about replacing the roof again in 15 or 20 years. You enjoy those benefits while you live there, and then you are able to point them out when it is time to sell.
How long will it actually last?
Realistically, you can expect a properly installed metal roof to last 40 to 70 years, depending on the exact product and how the home is maintained.
Here in Albany, the things that shorten roof life are usually moisture, ice, and UV from the sun. Metal handles all of those much better than asphalt. It does not dry out, it does not lose granules, and it does not curl at the edges. As long as the roof is installed correctly and your gutters and ventilation are in good shape, you are looking at several decades of solid performance.
The other piece is our workmanship. The panels and coating are designed to last, but if seams, flashing, or fasteners are not done right, that can shorten the roof’s life. That is why we back our work with a 15 year workmanship warranty and follow the manufacturer’s specifications on every install.
Does snow slide off too fast?
Metal does let snow slide more easily, which is one of the reasons people choose it in the Albany area. It helps reduce heavy snow loads and ice buildup. That said, we do not want large sheets of snow sliding onto walkways or over entry doors.
When we look at your home, we pay close attention to how your roof drains and where people walk or park. In areas over doors, decks, or frequently used walkways, we can add snow guards. These are small devices that hold the snow in place and let it melt and release gradually instead of all at once.
So you get the benefit of less ice and less weight on the roof, without creating a hazard below. It is something we plan for during the design, not something we leave to chance after the roof is installed.
